First off, when I dropped off my vehicle, Titus, confirmed my phone number and we established it was incorrect. He said he would update it. I advised Titus of the work I had already completed on the Buick and advised him based on my research and how the Buick was reacting, I felt it was the torque converter, since that is a known issue on the Enclaves after 150,000 miles. A week after I dropped off my car I finally called to get an update cause I was told I would be getting daily calls/texts with updates and never received anything. When I spoke with Titus, he said that he had been leaving messages since the day after I dropped it off because he was able to get it in immediately. When he read off the number he was calling, it was the incorrect number that he was supposed to update when I dropped the car off. So because of this, I drove around in a rental that I had been paying for all week when I could have only had it 1-2 days, almost $200 thrown away! Then I was told the mechanic that looked at my car said he checked the transmission fluid and it wasn't registering on the dipstick and that it was black and smelled really burnt so he recommended I need a new transmission. This is an amazing diagnosis!! However, I had just changed the transmission fluid about 5-6 months before in hopes the issue I was experiencing would be that. So I know the transmission fluid was at the proper level and still had a light red color and was NOT black. Was told about some other items that were found that needed replacement and the Transmission alone would be about $6000! I declined the work and took the SUV back. I called a local transmission shop that has done work for me before. They took in the SUV and they had rebuilt the transmission and replaced the Torque converter (which was the actual problem) and warrantied the work for 1 year for only $1800. I took the SUV to the dealership hoping for expertise and for a proper diagnosis and feel I got the run around and tried be be taken thinking I didn't know what I was talking about or doing. I'm out the $200 for my rental and on top of that was charged $175 for what I feel was a crappy diagnoses! Thanks for costing me almost $400 right before Christmas and giving me actually no value. Would and will never be back of recommend Yates to anyone. If anything, will be an advocate to stay away from your dealership.
